Besties, I’m Back — But Let’s Pause for a Moment

Before we dive back into our usual tasks, I feel led to talk about something pressing on my heart: the difference between knowing God and fearing God.

Sometimes we say we know God. We go to church, wear the cross, post the verses, and speak His name. But knowing God isn’t just recognition — it’s reflection. If we truly know Him, then our lives begin to look like His love.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
— Proverbs 9:10

To fear God doesn’t mean to be scared of Him — it means to reverence Him. To honor His word above our own will. When we fear God, we:

  • Ask Him to order our steps.
  • Desire to forgive, even when it hurts.
  • Seek to do what is right — not by the world’s standards, but by His.

But when we merely claim to know God without truly walking in His nature, something’s missing. We hold onto hate. We struggle to forgive. We mistreat people made in His image. And yet we say, “I love God.”

“If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar.”
— 1 John 4:20

God is love. Anything less — bitterness, pride, cruelty, division — is not of Him. So we must ask ourselves: are we walking in His character, or just calling on His name?

This isn’t about perfection — it’s about posture. A heart that fears God will always return to Him. Will always choose humility. Will always strive to love better, deeper, truer.

So today, besties, I invite us to pause. Not to just know of God, but to fear Him. Honor Him. Reflect Him.

Let’s be mirrors of His mercy — even when it’s hard.

Because how can we claim to love a God we cannot see, while hating the people we can?

He is love. Let us become love, too.

— With grace, always.
